About The Church

Grace Baptist Church is located in the heart of Jacksonville, North Carolina, home to the United States Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station, New River. We are an Independent, Fundamental, Bible-believing Baptist church and we believe that the 1611 King James Bible is God's holy, inspired, and inerrant Word for English speaking people.
The church was started with a remnant of people in March of 1975, when God brought Rodney Piedot and his family to essentially begin a brand new work. Throughout his thirty-year tenure, God used Pastor Piedot to lead this church in starting Grace Baptist School, a bus ministry, and an organized Sunday School ministry.

Pastor James & Claudia Butts

Pastor Butts started his ministry journey in Emporia VA, in the early 2000s. Since then, he has pastored at Harvest Baptist Church for several years until God called him to Jacksonville, N.C. He has three boys, a loving wife, and a heart for God's people.

A message from the pastor: "During these changing times, we need God's unchanging Word more than ever. Come visit Grace Baptist Church and allow God to speak to your heart. It is our passion to know God and to make him known to others through our worship, fellowship, discipleship, and ministry."

We are Independent.

Independent - autonomous, scriptural, Christ is the Head, totally dependent upon God!

We are a church that not only uses, but also believes the very Word of God, the King James Bible.

Grow Together.

We grow together through God’s Word and through personal ministry to others. Jesus built a community of fellowship and we as Christians enjoy and continue this belief.

Serve Others.

Jesus adds people to His church and gifts them to serve by His grace. We desire to help all members of our church discover and use their gifts to serve through outreach, missions and care.

“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” (Galatians 5:13)

Our Vision

Hebrews 13:8 states, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." After forty years, we are still preaching the Gospel of our unchanging Lord Jesus Christ! Our current pastor, James Butts, has a burning desire to hold the bloodstained banner high by preaching the same unchanging, old-time, Gospel message.

We believe that "old fashioned" preaching and soul winning is God's plan to win the lost and edify the same, and we also firmly believe that time is short so we must be busy about our Father's business. God has truly blessed the work and we are excited about what He is presently doing in and through the fine families of Grace Baptist Church.
